“The State has never come to our territories”: indigenous communities

Several Amazonian indigenous leaders met to discuss tools such as prior consultation and the advancement of mining, energy, agriculture and livestock projects in their territories. They assure that the Government prioritizes the “western business model” and has not sat down to listen to their interests and needs, when it is they and their families who have protected, for entire generations, these areas of the country. All of which are determining factors in the midst of climate change.
